Selling My Timeshare

Paying maintenance charges was a big burden for me as I am not really utilizing my timeshare. I therefore opted for selling my timeshare. I never thought it would be so difficult selling my timeshare. I advertised in newspapers, magazines and online. I even called my friends and mailed them personally. I received a number of phone calls and response for the advertisement online from many agents.

I followed one of my friends’ suggestions during the process of selling my timeshare. She gave me a phone number and I called them. They gave me the local office address nearby and there I was offered some valuable suggestions. I could finally close a deal with a genuine offer. I recovered about 55% of what I bought my timeshare for. After selling my timeshare and finishing all the formalities I was charged with a minimum fee.

I could have been deceived by agents and so called lowers. Once I was called by a group representing themselves as lowers to help me with the process of selling my timeshare. They charged me a fortune and guaranteed a genuine buyer. However, all the offers that came through them were low.

Today I have enough experience I gained while selling my timeshare to offer confident suggestions. It is important to be careful while dealing with agents. Check whether they are licensed or not in the state where they are operating from. Ask for written quotation including their charges and the mode of operation.

Go through all other options before signing with the agent. Publicity among your close circle and contacting co-owners of your property are other good options .Contact owners who own the property just before and after your time share week or period. They might be interested in increasing their timeshare by purchasing yours.
